6th Grade General Music - 3rd Period
This year, the 6th grade students are learning about composition, with a focus on putting rhythms together to construct measures of music. Each student will learn how to construct a measure of music in a simple time signature, and then again in more complicated time signatures. They will be given plenty of opportunities during class to demonstrate their understanding of note values as well as rhythm construction and notation.
Towards the end of their time in my class, they will not only be composing music, but will also be learning how to play their compositions using Orff instruments and Boomwhackers.
If 6th grade students are missing their weekly QD (Question of the Day) grades, they need to visit the "Weekly QD" page of this website. It contains all of the QDs for each week of the current quarter. QDs are updated over the weekend following each week.
